MONACO MARINE was created in 1995 with the goal of setting up A NETWORK OF SERVICE SHIPYARDS able to offer clients high level service and follow up tailored to their needs.Michel Ducros, founder, has imagined this project with the following target in mind:
- To create a range of services (repair and maintenance) for the yachting industry,
- To develop the brand MONACO MARINE around the concept of overall service, allowing owners and captains to delegate maintenance work to professionals,
- To improve and standardise the level of service within the industry,
- To spread the development of the group on the Mediterranean coast through external growth, site creations and acquisitions.
From its historic base in Monaco, Power Boat, MONACO MARINE has developed its service offer to yachtsmen: quay assistance (technical checking, cleaning, maintenance, etc), winter storage, sea or land delivery, etc...
With this goal of continuous service in the yachting environment, MONACO MARINE has spread its network in France thanks to various acquisitions of shipyards in Port Fréjus, Saint Laurent du Var,Beaulieu sur Mer...
In 2002, MONACO MARINE bought the Golfe de Saint Tropez shipyard, based in Cogolin, which was until recently, the largest site in the group, with a surface of 28000 square meters.
Indeed, MONACO MARINE has built in La Ciotat a shipyard of 35000 square meters which opened its doors in April 2007.
This site can service up to 13 megayachts on hard standing berths. A paint shed has been built for yachts up to 80 meters+.
The yachts can be hauled out on the 2000t Yachtlift®. Working at full capacity, the shipyard will employ 80 people and about 200 sub-contractors.
